Ideas/Thoughts for the Month of SEPTEMBER 2010
Most of us go to work at least five days each week. We usually
purchase at least one meal and perhaps a snack during the day. If you spend the average of $8.00 on your meal and maybe
$2.00 on a snack, you will spend $10.00/day, or $50.00/week. We are fortune enough to live in a time when
convenience has become increasingly more demanding. This can work for you and save you money. Here's
an idea... Instead of purchasing your lunch everyday, consider the many great options now available in your
grocery store and sold as "complete meals." I'm not talking "TV" dinners, but real family sized
meals, meat included, sold in the freezer section. These meals usely cost around $7.00 each and you can get
2 meals from each purchase. You can get everything from "pot roast" to more gourmet style meals like "shrimp
scampi." If you purchase 3 of these meals, and then go to the bakery and purchase $4 - $5.00 in pastry, you spend
about $25 for the week. The benefit is you will save about $25/week or $100/month. In addition, you
will find that these meals taste much better, and have higher nutritional value then those you probably eat at a restaurant
and/or vending machine for $9.00/day. Remember, unless you are eating at the drive through, the meal you
eat out also requires a tip. If you are eating "fast food" it is still costing you at least $5/day or $25/week
for something that probably increases your risk of deseases associated with these "high fat, high salt, high sugar,"
meals. Add this idea to your "building block" from the month of August, in which you probably saved
at least $25.00 on the conservative side. Together, you should now have a way of saving about $125/month in additional
income. And let's face it, it has not decreased your standard of living, nor has it been a burden. This is why you should visit with me every month. It is my intent to improve your life without your ever feeling deprived.
That's the only way any program will ever prove successful.
PLEASE COME BACK IN OCTOBER FOR ANOTHER "BUILDING
BLOCK" IDEA TO CONTINUE ENRICHING YOUR LIFE WITH MY PERSONAL THOUGHT OF THE MONTH
